Staff and pupil washrooms refurbished at primary school

Overview

Howard Junior School is a primary school based in the heart of Kings Lynn in Norfolk that caters for 7-11-year-olds.

The school approached us to design and fit their washrooms across the school, both for staff and pupils. The existing facilities were in need of a refresh and so we worked closely with the School Business Manager to define their exact requirements.

  • With budgets being stretched across almost all education settings, it was important we presented a cost-effective solution that still offered the robust quality of design and materials needed for school washrooms.

Once the design and specifications were approved, our team planned the refit so it would cause minimum disruption to the running of the school. Our team has vast experience in working in education settings so with our precise project planning process, we complete projects on time and on budget. And we keep our clients updated on progress every step of the way.

  • For school washrooms, materials must be robust, durable and stand the test of time so we opted for Trovex cubicles for quality and hygiene. The cubicles and duct panels were made to measure and designed to suit the school’s requirements.

The design of washrooms in schools is incredibly important and best practice design can actually support the prevention of bullying – sadly a problem at many schools today. The design of school washrooms, especially for younger children needs to be safe and practical, easy to use and also encourage good hygiene habits early on.

The use of colour is also an important factor in design and on this project the school opted for a simple colour scheme that would keep things looking bright and fresh. Bright blue and white form a smart colour combination and are also the school colours!

  • The project was completed during the summer holidays & finished in time for the pupils to return and came in on budget. The client was really pleased with the updates, vastly improving the washroom areas for both staff and pupils. When we asked how we did, we got full marks with a solid 10/10! “Very satisfied with the work and happy that at all times we were kept informed of progress made. We would highly recommend Focus”
