Summer Fields in Oxfordshire is a boarding and day school for boys aged between 8 and 13. Set in 70 acres of stunning grounds, the school required a total refurbishment of their washroom facilities.
Our team set to work on designing and creating two new shower and toilet areas for the boarders upstairs plus a Day Room and large toilet area downstairs to meet the needs of the pupils of Summer Fields. Included in this was the reconfiguration of the largest washroom we have yet come across, having a total of 56no. items of sanitaryware. This was a large project to complete in a short timescale of 4 weeks before the pupils returned to term time after their summer holidays.
The scope of work included new showers, toilets and wash troughs so we worked closely with the client to meet their exact specifications. Our choice of solutions from 19 years of experience meant that the new washrooms are robust and hard wearing and will last for years of use. For the washroom walls, we specified Trovex Hygienic Wall Cladding for exceptional waterproof quality, hygiene and ease of cleaning. Heavy duty Trovex solid grade laminate cubicles were installed which are water resistant and come with a 15-year material guarantee. The customer chose shower cubicle doors rather than curtains for total privacy in accordance with the school’s strict Child Protection Policies.
Trovex solid surface wash troughs were installed in the communal washroom which is innovatively designed to prevent splashing on floors. Stainless steel linear shower drains give an increased drainage rate and provides easy cleaning for the school maintenance staff.
We kept our client up to date with project progress throughout and using a tried and tested project schedule we met our tight deadline for completion. Summer Fields school now have a series of washrooms to be proud of which provide a modern and welcoming feel with hygiene front of mind.
