Colourful primary washroom refurb at primary school

Overview

One of our summer 2022 projects was undertaken at Upland Primary School near Bexley. Eleven washrooms in total were refurbished: seven pupil rooms, two staff washrooms and two accessible WCs.

The client wanted the project to be done exclusively in the summer holidays which meant we only had a 6-week timeline for quite a large job. However, drawing on our extensive experience, we were able to achieve this.

  • The refurbishment started with stripping out of all the washrooms and preparation of the room to receive the new fittings. New sheet vinyl flooring was put down and white hygienic wall cladding was installed to make

things look fresh and bright whilst also making the area easy to clean.

Trovex solid grade laminate cubicles, ducting and vanity units were installed, in a variety of styles to suit each room.

  • The school went all out on making sure the washrooms were as bright and fun as possible for students. The younger children’s washrooms had printed doors in a blue underwater fish theme. Other rooms had different colours per cubicle and another theme was pink with a woodgrain which was really smart.

All new sanitaryware was installed and a particular feature was the new Trovex solid surface wash troughs which are very wide and deep and are perfect places for children to practice good hygiene. Mains powered sensor taps and new energy efficient hand dryers completed the look.

  • The client was very happy with how smoothly the project ran within the timeframe and was pleased with the quality of installation.
